Design Club: Do you love problem solving, collaborating & critical thinking? Then this club is for you! Sign up today on the Design Club Form!  We will meet every Monday after school in room 400. See Ms. Solava with any questions! 

 

 CMMS Math Club kicks off on September 11th! This is open to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students.   You do not need to be a math pro to enjoy math club!  This club is a place to work with other students to play games, use your problem solving skills, and a chance to look at math differently than in the classroom.  Sign up here: Math Club Form See Ms. Dragovic if you have any questions!! 

Spanish Club: Hola! Do you want to explore the cultures of Spanish Speaking countries? If yes, join the Spanish club! Our 1st meeting is Tuesday, September 10th, in room 200. Complete this Spanish Club Form and submit by Thursday Sept. 5th. You will receive an email and  permission slip after you sign up.  See Ms. Haddad or Mrs. P with any questions. 
Chess Club: Attention all students who are interested in joining Chess Club! Meetings will take place every Monday in Ms. Orr’s Room 143 from 2:45-4:10. Complete this CHESS Club Google Form and submit by Sept.6th. First Meeting:  Monday, September 9th. See Ms. Orr Rm. 143 with any questions or email [email protected] .

Battle of the BooksSixth Graders, do you love to Battle? If you love to read and are competitive, this club is for you! Come and meet new people, pick from a wide selection of books, and then participate in a book trivia competition against other schools in the spring. Come see what it’s all about! Scholastic Bowl: Attention all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students!Are you competitive?  Do you like trivia? If you answered YES to these questions, then Scholastic Bowl is looking for you. If you are interested, have questions, or just want to see what Scholastic Bowl is all about, come to room 123 (Mr. Kozy’s room) Thursday, September 5th after school.
Choir Auditions will be held on Tuesday, September 10 and Thursday, September 12 from 2:50-4pm in the music room (213).You must sign up to reserve an audition time on this CHOIR AUDITION FORM. Please prepare one piece (of your choosing) to sing solo or with a play along track.Once you sign up for your time, please be sure that you arrive on time or early to your audition time as the audition windows are small.

Drama Club/Fall Play: Our first production this year is “The Will and the Spirit”. It is a spooky and funny story about a guy who needs to stay overnight in a house that has a ghost in it! Interested in auditioning for a part? Please sign up on the bulletin board outside of the Little Theatre. Make sure to write your name by the end of the school day on Friday, September 6th. You pick one day to audition either Monday, 9/9 or Tuesday, 9/10. If chosen for callbacks, then you’ll come on Thursday, 9/12. 

NJHS: Are you interested in joining the Crete-Monee chapter of the National Junior Honor Society? In order to qualify, students must be in 7th or 8th grade in the 2024/2025 school year & 

maintain a 3.5 GPA or higher

 have no demerit points on record with AP office after induction

 submit the National Junior Honor Society Application

 complete 10 hours of community service and log them on the NJHS Community Service Hours Report by November 1 Need ideas for service hours? The Crete Park District is offering these opportunities for volunteers:

 Acorn Fest - September 20 and 21 - volunteers needed to help with the children's area (monitoring inflatable obstacle courses and bounce houses) during the hours of 10:45 am - 3 pm.  

 Trick or Treat Trail - October 26 - volunteers needed to help with passing out treat bags, providing directional help, and general set-up and clean-up from 12-2:30 pmIf students are interested in volunteering for either of these events, they can fill out the volunteer application here and email it to [email protected].

 Cross CountryCross Country is still accepting RUNNERS!  Practices are Monday-Thursday until 4:15.  You must turn in your sports physical & parent permission form before you start practicing. Forms are available in either office.  If you have any questions, talk with Coach Vallow, Coach Taylor or Coach Mayster.  

GIRLS BASKETBALL TRYOUTS are on Wednesday, September 4th AND Thursday, September 5th

Activity Buses (4:15 p.m) will be available for students who are participating in any of our after school athletics, clubs or activities. Please note that your child will not be dropped off at their usual spot, but rather a close location in your neighborhood.
