Cross Country is the sport of distance running.  Athletes typically run on grass or dirt courses. Races are two miles long.
Summer Conditioning We encourage our athletes to begin training in the summer. Playing other sports, staying active and of course running during the summer will ensure you are prepared for the season. We will have two summer conditioning session on August 13th and 14th. The time and details will be announced.
Sports Physical All athletes must have a sports physical on file with the main office before they are allowed to participate. The sports physical form is available here or have the doctor check mark the sports physical box.
Tryouts Cross Country tryouts will be on Monday, August 26th after school.

Practice

Practices during the school year will be held from 2:45-4:15 pm on Monday through Thursdays. The activity bus is available.  There will be no practices on Friday.

Meets/Invitationals

Once the schedule for the year is available we will send it home to parents and post it here.

Equipment

Athletes will need supportive running shoes.  Cleats are not necessary for middle school. Running clothes for the variety of weather we experience. A labeled water bottle and watch for pacing are also recommended but not required.  Team warm ups will be issued to each student. Team apparel will be available for purchase at the start of the season.

Transportation

Athletes must ride the provided buses to the races.  Athletes may chose to ride home from the meets with a parent or ride the bus back to the middle school.  ONLY parents can transport their child home per school board policy and parents MUST sign them out and alert a coach before leaving with their athlete.
