Crete-Monee Middle School Athletic Banner Recognition

Location: recognition banners for individual and team sport accomplishments are located and visible hanging on the walls of the gymnasium.

Purpose: recognition banners represent achieved standards and accomplishments by an individual or a team representing an IESA (Illinois Elementary School Association) sanctioned sport during a designated competition season.

  •  All female and male sports are represented by two different banners.
  • One banner that is blue in color represents team accomplishments as achieved at the conclusion of the SSJHSA (South Suburban Junior High School Association) season.
  • One banner that is yellow/gold in color represents team accomplishments as achieved at the conclusion of the IESA tournament season.
  • A third set of banners that hang from the adjacent wall of the team SSJHSA and IESA banners represent the accomplishment level of an IESA state champion either as an individual event or a relay/team event.

Criteria: the following points recognize the criteria of achievement as performed by an individual or team that meet the standard gaining consideration for banner recognition:

  • Blue banner- denotes the achievement of a sport team that concluded the SSJHSA season with a winning conference record against the overall conference. The year of this achievement will be labeled on the banner.
  • Yellow banner- denotes the level of achievement accomplished at the conclusion of the IESA tournament season. The year and status of achievement will be labeled on this banner.
  • Individual banner recognition of an athlete or relay- state champion status (1st place overall) may be recognized with a personalized banner the denotes name, date, event, and year of state champion achievement.
