8th Grade Choral Music

Choral and General Music Classroom Procedures and Policies

Welcome to 8th Grade Choral and General Music! I’m looking forward to this upcoming semester. There are two parts to this class: choir and general music. We will be studying the art of singing along with gaining a basic knowledge of music theory; this will include note values, note names, tempo markings, dynamic markings and much more. You will have the opportunity to put the music theory you have learned into practice by playing the recorder! We will also be taking a look at how music affects your mind and body, professions in the music industry, and how music is used in advertising! You will be graded in this class by your participation, tests, quizzes, and projects. I’m excited about starting this class with you! I hope that by the end of this semester you will have a better understanding, and appreciation for music. If we work together I know it will be enjoyable for all of us.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. You can reach me by phone or email.

  • If late, you should come in quietly, do not disrupt class. You will be marked as tardy.
  • The class period starts when the bell rings and ends when I dismiss you.

Being tardy to class will not be tolerated. If you are tardy to class you will sign in on the tardy clipboard before taking your seat. The following are actions that will be taken for each tardy a student receives.
