Your 8th grade Comets are sectional champions and headed down state to play for a state title! The team won their sectional matchup convincingly against New Lenox Liberty 58 - 15. The team jumped out to an early 15 - 7 lead and never looked back. With the win, your Comets have earned a chance to play for a state title starting Saturday, February 10th. It has been a long season, but this group of young men has had an amazing run! Currently sitting at 19-1, they're looking to extend the season a few more games. After winning their division, your Comets went on to win the South Suburban Junior High School Association Championship, an IESA Regional Championship, and for the first time in CMMS history an IESA boys basketball sectional game. These young men are excited and ready for the chance to shine a spotlight on CMMS boys basketball. Thank you to our students and staff for showing up to the game and cheering us on to victory.
